High Explosives ammunition found-Mariz Revales

 

Datu Unsay Maguindanao- High Explosives and ammunitions recovered by the Joint elements of 45IB, 14 Mechanized Infantry Company, 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion, PA CIDG ARMM, PNP Provincial Police Office-Maguindanao and PNP Mamasapano on June 18 at about 8:00 o'clock in the evening while conducting law enforcement operation at Barangay Manungkaling, Mamasapano.

           

            Prior to the operation ,the unit received an information from a concerned citizens regarding the presence  of  armed men identified as Tommy Masukat and some other unidentified personalities at the visinity of the  warehouse marked with Department of Agriculture reportedly owned by a certain Akmad "Tato" Ampatuan, Vice-Mayor of Mamasapano, Maguindanao .

 

Hence,  the law enforcement team immediately proceeded to the area to issue warrant of arrest for Masukat and some other wanted personalities which is being reported, but the group withdrew, instead the law enforcement team discovered  inside the warehouse the Thirteen (13) rounds of 81mm of High Explosives (HE) Esperanza, Nine (9) rounds of 81mm (HE), Twelve (12) rounds of 57mm High Explosive Anti Thank (HEAT), Two (2) rounds of 90mm mortar and One hundred fifty five (155) rounds of Cal .50 Light Machine Gun (LMG).

 

At about 9:40 in the evening, 61EOD team went also in the area of recovery to inspect and recover the ammunitions.

 

At about 10:O'clock pm, the following recovered items were brought to the Headquarters of 1st Mechanized Infantry  Brigade, LAD, PA for inventory and proper disposition.

 

The peaceful recovery is a result of good cooperation and unity (Bayanihan) of the military, PNP, and other law enforcement agencies with the people in the community. The recovery of these war materials would eventually prevent other armed lawless group to convert these materials to IED's which eventually would be more distructive similar to what transpired in recent bombings.(with report from Capt.
