COMELEC
REPORTS HEAVY REGISTRATION

The Commission
on Elections reported heavy turnout of registrants in the province of Lanao del
Norte and Iligan City during the period from July 22 to 29.
Lorry
Gabule of PIA-10 reported that the Provincial COMELEC Supervisor of Lanao del
Norte bared yesterday that partial figures show the province had 10,527
applicants for registration, 1,253 for transfer, 455 for reactivation, 36 for
inclusion/reinstatement, 100 for change/correction, and 14,839 for SK.
She
also reported that Iligan City Election Officer Atty. Anna Liza Barredo
informed that as of the same period, COMELEC has received 2.890 new applicants
and 6,310 registrants for SK.
Registration
will close tomorrow, the report said.
