Lala, Lanao del Norte – Two bombs exploded in two days where authorities believed to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and reported to have no casualties in Barangay Maranding this province. PNP Provincial director P/SSupt Orlando Benas disclosed to GMANews.tv that the PNP is looking on the alleged extortion and personal grudge. He said that a text message was forwarded to him that a certain Jamal, an alleged spokesman of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) commander Bravo is asking for a revolutionary tax. He added on a personal grudge, two young warring group threaten each other and meet in the area. Commanding Officer of the 35th Infantry battalion (IB) Col Ferdinand Rasalan said that the first explosion was reported last June 1 at about 12:15 midnight near the house of Lily Pongase Y Nacario and on June 2, 2011 the other explosion was reported at about 3:15 at dawn and 20 meters away from the house of Pongase at the national highway near SEA OIL gas station in Barangay Maranding. In an interview with Vice Mayor Renino Longcob, the Local Government Unit (LGU)was confused after the reported bombing. 'We are still waiting for the police to report to us in our Sangguninag Bayan session what was the motive, suspects and the bomb used?, because our town is enjoying a normal peace and order condition",Longcob said He added, the alleged bombing was an isolated case, business is usual with many investors want to venture in the area. Maranding is a commercial barangay of Lala where business center is located. 'I am urging the residents to be watchful and alert in any situation despite we are enjoying our tranquility", Longcob noted |
