AFP launches watercraft project CONDOR3 in ZamboPen-RIC CLET and MARIZ REVALESf

Dapitan City- "Tunay na isang malaking hamon sa atin ang kaukulangan ng pondo para sa mga proyektong magsusulong ng serbisyo militar sa ating pamayanan. Subalit hindi ito dapat maging hadlang upang makamit ang layunin ng Philippine Army na tumbasan ang tapang at pagsisikap ng ating kasundaluhan ng kaukulang kagamitan upang magampanan nila ang kanilang mga gawain at mas iguro ang kanilang tagumpay. Layunin natin na maihatid ang tamang suporta na kinakailang ng ating mga magigiting na kasunduluhan upang sila ay patuloy na makapaghatid ng serbisyo at tulong sa pamahayanan." were the words of CGPA Lt General Arturo B Ortiz.

He stressed that all available assets, equipments, and other material support under his watch will be prioritized for the field units. This program will address the appropriate armaments, protection, transportation, and medical attention. "Ang kasalukuyang sitwasyon sa bahaging ito ng ating bansa ay nagdulot ng hindi pangkaraniwang pangangailangan sa ating lahat. Ako ay naniniwala na tayong lahat, kasama ang provincial government ng Zamboanga del Norte , ang ating kapulisan ,ang hukbong katihan ng Pilipinas, at ang buong sambayanan ng probinsiya ay dapat magsama-sama upang harapin ang mga paghamon ng kahirapan",Ortiz noted.

He added that we are faced with making a choice: to wait and react or to make pro-active step in order to improve the lives of the citizens of Zamboanga del Norte. "This program is one of the active measures to the direction which we are going to attain. I will support with all the equipments of the Philippine Army , to fight terrorism at iba pang masasamang elemento na gumugulo at nagpapahirap sa ating bansa . Sa pagdaan ng mga araw unti unting nakukubkob ang malakas na bahagi ng teritoryo ng ating mga kalaban, ang daanan ng kanilang transportasyon at ang pinang gagalingan ng kanilang mga suporta ay payuloy na lumiliit at nagiging makipot. Ang pagtugis sa mabibilis at bihasang mga kalaban ay nangangailangan ng lubos na pagtitiyaga at dedikasyon. This is why the army adapts to the changing environment in order to bring out improvements in the security sector of this province. Ganun pa man hindi ito maisasakatuparan ng militar ng nag iisa lamang. Kailangan nito ang kooperasyon ng buong komunidad at ng buong probinsiya. Sa kabutihang palad , ang pamahalaan ng Zaboanga del Norte ay mayroon ding pananaw tulad nito", Ortiz said in his speech.

The newly built 3 pump boats and 10 scout boats were presented to the provincial government of Zamboanga del Norte before the local government units of Zamboanga del Norte at Barangay Sta Cruz, Dapitan City last May 19, 2011 for the use of the soldiers.

The launching of the program was attended by Governor Orlando Yebes, former Congressman Romeo Jalosjos and City officials of Dapitan. These watercrafts are also assigning of commitment that the army shall walk, talk and fully commit itself to public safety and security, most especially in Zamboanga Peninsula.

Ortiz continued his speech that the Philippine Army watercraft project dubbed as "CONDOR" is a commitment of the military not only to the local government and to the AFP but also to the constituents of Zambanga Peninsula and other neighboring provinces like Basilan where modern armament and equipments sent where it needed most.

"Simula noong ito ay unang pinasinayaan noong ika-13 ng Nobyiembre 2010 ,nadagdagan ang pagtugon ng ating kasundaluhan ,particular na ang pagsasagawa ng operasyon sa seguridad ng probinsiya ng Basilan at mga baybayin ng Zamboanga Sibugay. Ako ay lubos na sumusuporta sa proyektong ito sa paniniwala na ang angkop na kagamitan at taong magpapatakbo nito ay magagampanan ang kanilang tungkulin ng mas mabuti at malayo sa peligro. Gaano man kahusay ang pagsasanay ng isang sundalo ay hindi magiging epektibo kung siya ay walang sapat na kagamitan ", Ortiz said.

The watercrafts built under project "CONDOR" are feat in them. Thirteen watercraft assets are about to be launched in addition to the built watercrafts earlier, and other assets available to the army nationwide. "Malaki ang maitutulong ng mga ito para sa ating mga sundalo sa paglaban sa mga pirata at illegal na gawain", he noted.

The Project Condor , has three primary objectives : first is to help preserve the element of surprise in favor the soldiers during surgical strikes and operations utilizing the sea and wáter channels as a means of manuever rather than as obstacles. Relentless mopping –up operations are now giving way to surgical target and intelligence –driven strikes using the sea as an avenue of approach which greatly preserves the fighting capacity of the military .Second, is to deny the enemy use of water channels; thereby, constricting the avenue where they can move cut their lifeline of supplies and supports from nearby islands and contain the spill –over of conflict to other areas, Lastly, to assist our local government units in every possible way for the conduct of humanitarian and socio-economic projects that will directly benefit the people.

Ang mga araw at linggong darating ay magsisilbing lubhang mahalaga lalo na sa ating mga kasundaluhan na patuloy na magsisilibi sa loob ng biente kuwatro oras sa araw araw. Ang kapayapaan at katiwasayan sa ating mga kaisipan na tinatamasa sa ngayon at patuloy nating makakamtan kung tayo ay magiging mapagmatyag sa lahat ng mga kaganapan sa ating kapaligiran. Ako ay lubos na umaasa na ang hukbong katihan at ang provincial government ng Zamboanga del Norte, tulad ng mga probinsiyang aking nabanggit, ay patuloy na magkakaisa at magtutulungan upang wakasan ang mga masasamang elemento,karahasan at kriminalidad na nagpapagulo sa ating bansa",Ortiz. said
