DA turn over projects to Maigo town

By:MARIZ REVALES      Maigo, Lanao del  Norte- Agricultural town  of Maigo is a recipient of multi-million projects  from the Department of Agriculture (DA) particularly the Mindanao  Integrated Area Development  .     The MINCIADP coordinator director Carlota Madraiga and Regional Auditor were present to grace the blessing and turn over ceremony of the two projects worth more than three million.     Madraiga in her speech said that the five (500) meters Farm to Market Road(FMR) in Barangay Balagatasa is worth  3.3 million pesos  and another  project amounting to 953,000 pesos is the Multi Purpose Dryer Pavement  in which the municipality of Maigo provides ten percent of the amount as their counterpart.    "I congratulated mayor Paeng Rizalda for the completion of the projects even though we had just released only fifty percent of the total cost"  Madraiga said. She went further to say that for the year 2011 only Maigo was able to complete its projects.    Meanwhile , Mayor Rafael C. Rizalda expressed his thanks and gratitude to DA regional director Lealyn A. Ramos for the financial aid that would help barangay resident beneficiaries to address the problem of farmers in transporting their farm products. "This will address sustainable barangay development in Maigo. He added that the local government unit (LGU) of Maigo is playing the key role in contributing to the countryside scheme for more sustainable economy and implement its mandate.   He also disclosed that the LGU has news funds from the Department of Agriculture in carrying out livelihood programs such as the goat multipliers and women's livelihood project. "These projects were implemented and realized because of the full support of the local officials, all the residents of Maigo and to all DA personnel"Rizalda said.   The said blessing and turn- over of projects in Barangay Balagatasa started with a thanksgiving mass by Reverend Father Reggie Quijano, followed by a cutting of ribbon by director Madriaga along with the local and Barangay officials.  The invocation was led by Alice B. Paculba while Juvelyn Ranara led the National Anthem, Welcome address by Rolando Semacas, Balagatasa Barangay Captain who also expressed his gratitude to the people who provide the projects for its residents. Director Madriaga, Minciadp coordinator, Mayor Rizalda and other local officials made the turn-over ceremony.   Engineer Herlino Jumalon, President of Barangay Sigapod farmers' irrigators Association the beneficiary also made the response. Closing remarks was delivered by Counselor Noel Enriquez.
