Silsilah Foundation in Support of the 65IB conducted a Symposium on Dangerous Drug Prevention

By; Captain Orlando  Gil Marqqquez Jr (INF)PA    MSU CAMPUS, Marawi  City-  The Silsilah  Forum -Marawi  Silsilah  Dialogue Movement (Silsilah Foundation) in support of the 65th Infantry (Stalwart ) Battalion 9ID PA conducted a Symposium on Dangerous Drug and Prevention and Transformative  Youth Leadership held at Acedemic Complex of Mindanao State University here last September 11,2011.   The 65th Infantry (Stalwart) Battalion 9th Infantry Division Philiippine Army led by LTC Seigred J Espina  INF (GSC) PA currently under the operational control of 103rd Brigade 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division Philippine Army supported the Silsilah Forum-Marawi  Silsilah Dialogue Movement  (Silsilah Foundation) during the conduct of the Symposium on  Dangerous Drug and Preventive and Transformative Youth Leaders:Building Peace and Developing Communities.   The activity was participated by more or less One Hundred Thirty (130) participants composed from the different student organizations of Mindanao State Universsity headed by Ms Melodia S.Udtuhan the Christian coordinator of Silsilah Foundation –Marawi and Mr.Jihan  S. Bacug the Muslim Coordinator of Silsilah .   The Program was devided into two(2) sessions the lecture on Dangerous Drug Awareness and Prevention during the morning session and the lecture  on Transformative Youth Leadership and Development in the afternoon session. The Silsilah Forum—Marawi is a non-government organization aiming for the promotion of Muslim-Christian dialogue in the conflict araes of Mindanao and other parts of the counntry. The movement has many forums or chapters widely distrubuted in the key areas of the island. As part of the Silsilah work many programs  and projets were launched in coordination with other entities in both the government and non-government ranks to virtually solved the conflict in Mindanao and to promote the establishment of permanent peace and harmony among the culturally-diverse people in the country.  Topic discussed were the Drug advocayaand salient Provision of the Dangerous Druggspresented by Capt OrlandoGil C Marquez Jr (INF)PA and the III Effect of Dangerous presented by Pfc Geraredo T Bergonia (INF) PA.The guest speakers along with the project coordinator aand participantscoming from thedifferent Student Organizations  of the MSU sucessfully discussed and leaned the lecture on the topics discussed by the open forum.   Thus through initiating Symposium on Dangerous Drug and Prevention and Transformative Youth Leadership the Philippine Army had established  a complete liason with the different student based organizations and bridged the gap between soldiers and youth sectors in order to have positive attitude towards law enforcement.
